Spiritual care does not replace clinical care—it completes it by addressing what medicine alone cannot touch. - Ivory
My Story
My path into spiritual healthcare was shaped at the intersection of faith, leadership, and lived human experience. Over the years, I witnessed how people often receive excellent medical or mental health care while still struggling with questions of meaning, identity, purpose, and inner alignment—especially during seasons of transition, loss, leadership strain, or crisis.
Serving in clinical and community settings deepened my understanding that spiritual care is not an abstract concept, but a vital dimension of whole-person health. I observed how unaddressed spiritual distress can impact emotional wellbeing, decision-making, resilience, and relationships, even among highly capable and high-functioning individuals.
These experiences led me to pursue advanced training in theology, social work, and clinical chaplaincy, and to develop Spiritual Healthcare Science™, a research-informed framework designed to integrate spiritual care, emotional insight, ethical boundaries, and whole-person support. This work eventually gave rise to Spiritual Healthcare Consulting Inc. and the Certified Spiritual Healthcare Chaplain™ Training Program, both rooted in the conviction that spiritually integrated care must be ethically grounded, professionally accountable, and deeply human.
Today, my work is focused on supporting individuals, leaders, clinicians, and institutions in cultivating clarity, resilience, and alignment—honoring both the complexity of human experience and the dignity of each person’s spiritual journey.
“The body remembers, the soul speaks, and healing begins when someone is finally willing to
listen to both.” - Ivory
My Mission
I help people and institutions bridge the spiritual and emotional dimensions of lived experience with clarity, alignment, and sustainable resilience. My work is grounded in Spiritual Healthcare Science™ Research, a whole-person framework that integrates spiritual care theory, reflective practice, emotional insight, and ethical boundaries. I provide spiritual healthcare that complements (not replaces) mental health and medical care, and I partner with clients and organizations to promote meaning, identity alignment, and adaptive wellbeing.
Who I Work With
I serve a diverse range of individuals and organizations, including:
Individuals and families seeking meaning, coping support, direction, or resilience during transitions, loss, or identity strain.
Leaders and high-responsibility professionals navigating burnout, moral distress, or values-based decision making.
Clinicians and caregivers seeking reflective support and integration of spirituality with practice.
Healthcare systems and organizational partners interested in whole-person wellbeing, staff support, and spiritually integrated systems of care.
“My practice is rooted in this truth: transformation happens when compassion meets accountability in a safe and ethical space.” - Ivory
My Background & Credentials
I hold a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master of Social Work (MSW), and I am trained in clinical chaplaincy practice, whole-person spiritual integration, and reflective care. My education and experience span pastoral formation, interdisciplinary collaboration, ethical scope of practice, and systems thinking.
I am also a Doctor of Ministry candidate, currently engaged in advanced research and applied scholarship in Spiritual Healthcare Science™, whole-person formation, and spiritually integrated leadership.
As Principal Consultant of Spiritual Healthcare Consulting Inc., I develop research-informed frameworks, support institutional integration of spiritual care, and lead professional formation through the Certified Spiritual Healthcare Chaplain™ Training Program grounded in Spiritual Healthcare Science™ Research.
How I Define Spiritual Healthcare
Spiritual healthcare is the practice of attending to the spiritual dimension of human experience, especially as it relates to meaning, purpose, values, identity, and inner coherence. It is not therapy or medical treatment, nor is it tied to any specific religion. Instead, it supports whole-person wellbeing and collaborates respectfully with clinical care partners.
This orientation allows us to address questions like:
-
What gives your life meaning right now?
-
How do you navigate moral tension or burnout?
-
Where do your beliefs, values, and emotional experience intersect?
-
How do you maintain resilience through transition?
“People are not broken; they are often faithful, exhausted, and unheard.” - Ivory

A professional who listens deeply without judgment
-
A framework that is practical, grounded, and meaningful
-
Clarity without simplification
-

-
A partnership that respects both spiritual and emotional experience
My Professional Orientation & Practice Values
As the Principal Consultant, I identify as a non-denominational Christian. My spiritual care framework is informed by Christian theology, spiritual formation, and long-standing ethical traditions within professional chaplaincy and spiritual care practice.
I provide services in a client-centered manner, with careful attention to professional boundaries and ethical integrity.
“I have learned that presence is often more therapeutic than precision, and listening more powerful than language.” - Ivory
